On Saturday May 18th the NAWCC Chapter 15 will hold their monthly meeting at Pok-e-Jo’s, 2121 Parmer, Austin TX beginning at 10:00 am and going until lunch. We will have a program by Dulen Lee on the many types of escapements which regulate clock time. The meeting is open to all with no charge to participate.

Chapter 15 will be co-hosting a training class on Swiss pocket watch repair. The cost is $20 for members and $40 for non-members. All are welcome. The class will be held at the Windemere Clubhouse on Gower St. in Pflugerville, TX beginning at 9:00 am and lasting until 4:00 pm on April 6th. The National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors Chapter 15 will have our monthly meeting on the 16th at Pok-e-Jo’s, 2121 Parmer, Austin TX beginning at 10:00 am on Saturday. We finish before lunch and welcome all to attend at no charge. We will have a program on clocks or watches with lots of fellowship to enjoy and share ideas.
Chapter 15 will co-host the Mesquite Regional on March 1 & 2nd in at the Mesquite Convention Center. All NAWCC members are welcome and anyone interested in horology may come and join the organization and buy and sell at the more than 300 tables of clocks, watches and tools.
The next meeting for the NAWCC Chapter 15 will be held on January 19th beginning at 10:00 am at Pok-e-Jo’s, 2121 Parmer Ave., Austin TX. The meeting will feature a program on 400 Day or Anniversary Clocks which were very popular as gifts in the later 1800s and through the later 1900s. They are clocks that run for a year or more and require winding once a year.

On December 1st and 2nd, Chapter 15 will be holding a 2 day class for Reverse Glass Painting and Dial Painting. Reverse glass painting was the norm for American clocks made from the mid 1800s into the 1900s to have a picture on the inside of a glass. The technique will be taught and individuals will have their own glass when they are finished. Dial painting will consist of how to lay out a painted dial, the paint to use and how to number the dial. The cost is $50 for the 2 day class.

The monthly meeting of NAWCC Chapter 15 will be held November 17th at Pok-e-Jo’s, 2121 Parmer, Austin TX. The meeting will begin at 10:00 am and finish before noon. Everyone is invited and attendance is free.
The meeting will have a program by Gary Sertich on Ansonia clocks. We encourage attendees to bring an Ansonia clock to share or a story they may have about Ansonia to add to the program. After the program we encourage everyone to stay and have bar-b-que and continue discussions.

The monthly meeting for the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors Chapter 15 will be October 20th at Pok-e-Jo’s, 2121 Parmer, Austin TX beginning at 10:00 am and finishing before lunch.
The program will be by Ken Reindel on alarm clocks and their history. Ken has an extensive collection of alarm clocks from the late 1800s up into today and he will show us how they have played a critical part in American history.
Everyone is invited and there is no charge for attending. After the meeting everyone is welcome to stay and enjoy a lunch of bar-b-que with us at Pok-e-Jo’s.
